Making recycling smarter, simpler, and more rewarding

Despite increasing awareness, proper recycling remains a challenge for many due to limited information, hard-to-reach drop-off points, or lack of motivation. The Eco project aimed to remove these barriers by combining a user-friendly interface with advanced features like AI recognition, geolocation, gamification, and real-time reporting, all while contributing to climate goals and supporting a scalable business model.

Our goal was to create a platform that enables users to recycle more efficiently and feel motivated to adopt sustainable habits. Eco combines education, convenience, and incentives to support everyday action toward a circular economy, reflecting Mobiweb’s vision for digital innovation with positive social and environmental impact.

Built through an agile and iterative process, Eco is centered around ease of use and engagement. The app includes an AI system that identifies waste from photos, a dynamic map that shows nearby recycling points by waste type, and a reporting tool for damaged or missing containers. Users earn points and rewards through eco-friendly actions, encouraging continuous participation. The product is designed to scale and integrate with local retailers and municipalities through contextual campaigns and partnerships.

Eco marks a strategic milestone for Mobiweb, not only as our first consumer product, but as a platform that combines innovation with sustainability. By helping people recycle better, faster, and with purpose, the app contributes to behavior change and strengthens community engagement. It’s a meaningful step toward a greener future, powered by technology, guided by impact.
